Orange County
Inmate Search

Orange County runs three Sheriff facilities and seventeen city Type I jails, which is why a fresh arrest often does not show in the county system yet. We check both sides, confirm the bail figure, and post at the facility holding them — 24/7, as low as 1% down on approved credit.

Why Choose Us For Orange County Inmate Search

A booking search is only useful if someone can act on it. We locate the person, read back the bail figure, and post the bond at the same facility — all on one call.

We Check City Jails Too

Seventeen Orange County cities run their own Type I jails. A person booked at Anaheim, Santa Ana PD, Irvine, or Huntington Beach will not appear in the Sheriff's system until transfer — we call the city side directly.

We Know The Flower Street Complex

The Intake Release Center, the Central Men's and Women's Jail, and Department CJ1 all sit at 550 N Flower Street. Knowing which window handles which paperwork is the difference between a fast release and a wasted trip.

Santa Ana Office, Local Agents

We are on West Santa Ana Boulevard, minutes from the civic center. Bonds get walked in by a licensed local agent at any hour, not routed to another county.

2026 Uniform Bail Schedule

Orange County publishes its own schedule, and the numbers differ from Los Angeles or Riverside for the same charge. We quote from the current OC schedule, not a regional average.

1% Down On Approved Credit

State-filed rates fix the premium at 10% of the bail. The down payment is what we can work with — starting as low as 1%, with the balance on a written installment plan.

Honest About Holds

A probation hold, an immigration detainer, or a Penal Code §1275 source-of-funds hold blocks release regardless of the bond. We check first and tell you before you spend anything.

Visitation Rules & Inmate Services

Orange County Sheriff facilities schedule visits in advance, and the city Type I jails largely do not offer general visiting at all because the holds are short.

Reserve Your Visit

Visits at the county facilities are scheduled by housing unit rather than walk-up, and slots fill days ahead at Theo Lacy. Bring valid government photo ID; minors must be accompanied by a documented parent or guardian.

City Jails Are Short Holds

Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Huntington Beach, and the other Type I facilities hold for a limited window before transfer. Plan on posting rather than visiting — by the next visiting day the person may already be at Flower Street or Theo Lacy.

Money On The Books

Deposits run through the Sheriff's contracted vendor by lobby kiosk, phone, or web. Cash is not accepted at the counter and funds can take a shift to appear.

Calls Are Recorded

Jail phone calls are collect or prepaid through the facility's provider and are recorded. Keep case facts and bail discussion off the jail line; attorney calls are handled under separate rules.

Mail And Property

Incoming mail is opened and inspected. Personal property is bagged at intake and released with the person, not to a visitor at the window.

Medical And Housing Classification

Report prescriptions and conditions at intake. Classification and medical screening at the Intake Release Center are the most common reasons a release runs long after the bond is already posted.

Bail Options After Inmate Location

Bail in Orange County starts from the Superior Court's 2026 Uniform Bail Schedule. That schedule is county-specific, so the same charge can carry a different number than it would in Los Angeles or Riverside.

The 2026 Uniform Bail Schedule

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange adopts its own uniform bail schedule under Penal Code §1269b(c), and the booking figure comes from that document. Counts stack and enhancements add on top.

Department CJ1 Arraignments

A courtroom inside the Central Men's Jail complex handles misdemeanor and felony complaint arraignments and misdemeanor probation violations weekdays without transporting anyone to a courthouse building.

Judges Can Move The Number

Penal Code §1275 requires the court to weigh public safety, offense seriousness, prior record, and likelihood of appearance. In re Humphrey (2021) requires consideration of ability to pay before setting unaffordable bail.

Court Designation Decides The Venue

Which justice center hears the case follows the arresting agency under the Court Designation List effective June 30, 2025 — not the nearest courthouse to the jail.

Bail Amount10% PremiumDown At 1%
$20,000$2,000$200
$50,000$5,000$500
$100,000$10,000$1,000

Down payments start as low as 1% of the bail on approved credit — a down payment, not a discounted premium. California fixes the premium itself at 10% of the bail under rates filed with the Department of Insurance per Cal. Ins. Code §1800, so there is no legal $0-down bail bond in California. Anyone advertising one is describing a payment plan. For the full 1% through 10% tier comparison see affordable bail bonds, 1% bail bonds, and what "no money down" actually means.
