Indio
Bail Bonds

Indio runs its own police department on Jackson Street and, unusually for a city its size, it is also home to the county's Coachella Valley jail — the John J. Benoit Detention Center. That combination makes Indio the custody hub for the entire east end of Riverside County. We post there 24 hours a day. 10% premium, 1% down on approved credit.

Midnight Bail Bonds Riverside

3959 Market St Ste C, Riverside, CA 92501

Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

We don't keep an Indio branch. The Coachella Valley is covered from our staffed Riverside office on Market Street, out the 10 — but because Benoit is right there in Indio, most valley families are driving to Highway 111 rather than driving to us.

Why Choose Midnight In Indio

Licensed agents on every shift, honest answers about where your family member actually is, and financing built for families who didn't plan on an arrest this week.

01

Indio Is Where The Valley's Custody Actually Happens

Indio Police Department at 46800 Jackson St, Indio, CA 92201, (760) 391-4057 is an independent municipal agency. But the reason Indio matters far beyond its own city limits is the John J. Benoit Detention Center, the Sheriff's Coachella Valley jail located here. Arrests from across the east valley — including some Palm Springs bookings — can end up in Indio. If you're calling about someone picked up anywhere between Palm Springs and the Salton Sea, Indio is one of the two addresses worth checking first.

02

24/7 Availability

A licensed agent answers the phone at 3 a.m. on a Sunday the same way we answer at 3 p.m. on a Wednesday. Indio bookings do not wait for business hours, and neither do we.

03

Bilingual Agents

English and Spanish-speaking agents on every shift. Premium, cosigner obligations, and payment terms get explained in the language your family actually speaks.

04

No Collateral In Most Cases

Most bonds under $100,000 are written on a qualified signature alone — no property, no pink slip. Above that, collateral may be requested depending on the charge and how the cosigner qualifies.

05

Affordable Payment Plans

California fixes the premium at 10% of the bail. The down payment is what flexes — as low as 1% on approved credit, with the balance on a written plan.

06

Licensed & Accountable

California License #1846101, with a staffed office at 3959 Market St Ste C, Riverside, CA 92501 covering Indio — a real office with real agents, not a national call center routing your case to a stranger.

How Bail Bonds Work In Indio

An Indio arrest usually has the shortest custody distance in the county: city officers make the arrest, the county's October 2025 bail schedule sets the number, and the jail is a few minutes away rather than an hour.

1

Arrest & Processing By Indio Police

Indio Police Department at 46800 Jackson St, Indio, CA 92201, (760) 391-4057 handles arrests within city limits. Prints, photo, and record checks have to clear before a bond can post. Because the county's valley jail is in the same city, the transfer step that costs families hours elsewhere in Riverside County is often a short trip here.

2

Charge Checked Against The 2025 County Schedule

Bail comes from the Riverside County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule effective October 20, 2025. It is county-wide — a city police department doesn't change it — and it sorts offenses into Cite and Release, Book and Release, Pre-Arraignment Review, and standard bail.

3

Call Midnight — We Confirm Where They Are

Call (951) 692-7388 with a full legal name and date of birth. We check the Indio city booking and the Riverside County system, tell you where they are right now, and read back the exact bail amount and premium before you pay anything.

4

Qualification & Approval

A short cosigner conversation — employment, residence, and how the balance gets paid. Most approvals take minutes, and most Indio bonds require no collateral.

5

Bond Posted Where They Actually Are

We post at the facility holding the defendant, whether that's the city jail or the county detention centers after transfer. Release from a municipal booking area is usually faster; the county facilities run a processing queue that can take several hours, longer on weekends and holidays.

6

Payment Plan Begins

The remaining premium is paid on the written schedule agreed up front. No surprise fees, and we remind you of every court date so the bond stays in good standing.

Bail amounts for Indio arrests come from the Riverside County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule (effective October 20, 2025), the same county-wide schedule used for every other city in Riverside County.

Riverside County Release Categories
The 2025 release categories apply in Indio exactly as they do everywhere else in the county. A charge marked Cite and Release or Book and Release can end in release on a signed promise to appear with no bail posted, and Pre-Arraignment Review is a separate track the court still lists as pending implementation. We check the category before you pay anything. Full explanation on the Riverside County hub.

What Bail Bonds Cost In Indio

The premium is fixed by California law. The down payment is where we can help.

The Premium Is 10% — By Law

Bail premium rates in California are filed with and approved by the Department of Insurance under Cal. Ins. Code §1800. A bondsman quoting a Indio family less than the filed 10% premium as the total cost is quoting something they can't legally deliver.

The Premium Is Earned, Not Refundable

Once the bond is posted the premium is earned in full — whether the case is dismissed at arraignment or runs two years. That's the price of the surety, not a deposit held against the bail.

The Down Payment Is What's Negotiable

Down payments start as low as 1% of the bail on approved credit. The remainder of the 10% premium is financed on a written plan with fixed installments you agree to before signing.

Collateral Isn't Usually Required

Most Indio bonds under $100,000 are written on a qualified cosigner's signature. Larger bonds may call for collateral depending on the charge and the cosigner's file.

Bail Amount10% PremiumDown At 1%
$20,000$2,000$200
$50,000$5,000$500
$100,000$10,000$1,000

The 1% figure is a down payment on approved credit, not a discounted premium — the full 10% is still owed on the payment plan. For the full 1% through 10% tier comparison and who qualifies for each, see affordable bail bonds.

Indio Jails We Serve

Indio's transfer story is the simplest in Riverside County: the county jail for the entire Coachella Valley is inside city limits.

Indio Police Department

46800 Jackson St, Indio, CA 92201

(760) 391-4057

Indio's independent municipal police department. Holding here is arrest processing rather than extended custody — a continuing hold goes to the county's Benoit Detention Center, which happens to be in the same city.

Where Indio Arrestees Transfer

John J. Benoit Detention Center

82675 Highway 111, Indio, CA 92201

(760) 863-8200

The Sheriff's Coachella Valley detention center, located in Indio itself. The likely destination for an Indio hold that continues past processing — and the same facility that sometimes receives Palm Springs and east-valley arrestees.

Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility

1627 S Hargrave St, Banning, CA 92220

(951) 922-7300

The Sheriff's Pass-area facility about forty-five minutes west on the 10. Uncommon for an Indio booking, but classification, medical needs, or population can route someone out of the valley.

What We Need When You Call

Have these ready and we can locate the booking — city jail or county — and quote the premium on the first call.

01

Defendant's Full Legal Name

First, middle, and last as it appears on their ID. Nicknames slow the jail search.

02

Date of Birth

Prevents confusion when multiple people share the same name in the booking system.

03

City or County of Arrest

Tells us which jail to check first — Riverside, San Bernardino, LA, Orange, or San Diego.

04

Booking Number (If Available)

Not required, but if you have it, it speeds up locating the record considerably.

05

Cosigner Contact Info

Cosigner's name, phone, employer, and general credit range — this is what determines your financing terms.

06

Your Relationship to the Defendant

Family, friend, or coworker — helps us know who to loop in on updates and paperwork.

Most Common Bail Charges In Indio

Bail is set by the Riverside County Superior Court schedule, not by the city — so a Indio booking starts from the same figures as one anywhere else in the county. The ranges below are county schedule ranges, not city-specific numbers.

DUI

VC §23152

County schedule range: $5,000 – $100,000

A first misdemeanor DUI sits at the low end of the schedule and can sometimes release on citation. Priors, injury, or a high BAC push the amount up fast.

View Page

Domestic Violence

PC §273.5

County schedule range: $50,000 – $100,000

Corporal injury filings book high and usually come with a protective order at arraignment. Release conditions matter as much as the bond — we walk cosigners through both before anything is signed.

View Page

Drug Possession & Sale

HS §11350, HS §11351 / §11352

County schedule range: $10,000 – $100,000+

Simple possession books low and often qualifies for diversion. Possession for sale and transportation book far higher, and weight or priors move the number quickly.

View Page

Assault & Battery

PC §240 / §245(a)(1)

County schedule range: $25,000 – $50,000

Simple battery books at the low end. Assault with a deadly weapon is a strike-eligible felony and books substantially higher, often with additional enhancements filed.

View Page

Theft & Burglary

PC §484/§487 and PC §459

County schedule range: $20,000 – $50,000

Petty theft books low; grand theft and first-degree residential burglary book substantially higher and carry felony jail or prison exposure. Burglary has its own dedicated page on this site.

About Indio

Indio is the largest city in the Coachella Valley, an agricultural and events hub on the I-10 known nationally for the festival grounds at the Empire Polo Club. It kept an independent police department headquartered at 46800 Jackson St rather than contracting with the Sheriff, which puts it alongside Cathedral City and Palm Springs among valley cities with their own force.

What makes Indio genuinely different is the jail. The John J. Benoit Detention Center on Highway 111 is the Sheriff's detention facility for the Coachella Valley, and it is inside Indio city limits. That means Indio residents rarely face the ninety-minute drive to downtown Riverside that families in the west county take for granted — and it means arrestees from other valley cities, including some booked by Palm Springs police, can end up here. We'll link a dedicated Benoit facility page once it's published.

Indio cases are filed in the Riverside County Superior Court system with bail set from the county-wide schedule. We're not going to name a courthouse or department for a specific case — that depends on the filing, and the court's own information is the right source rather than a guess from us. What we can answer on the first call is whether the charge falls into one of the 2025 no-bail release categories.
