The Hollywood Courthouse stands at 5925 Hollywood Boulevard, a few blocks east of the Hollywood and Vine intersection, in one of the densest and most heavily policed stretches of the City of Los Angeles. It is part of the Superior Court's Central District — the same district that includes the downtown Civic Center cluster — and operates as a neighborhood courthouse rather than one of the county's large multi-function buildings.
Details on this page come from the Superior Court's own courthouse directory rather than memory or third-party listings: the address, the (323) 441-1800 general telephone number, the 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. building hours, the 8:30 a.m. clerk's office opening, and the parking situation out front. We list what the court publishes and nothing we cannot verify.
Calendar assignments in the Central District have been reshuffled repeatedly over the past decade as Los Angeles Superior Court consolidated functions and closed or repurposed buildings. Hollywood is one of the courthouses affected by that history, and it maintains a mental health clerk's office among its on-site services. Because assignments move, the courthouse name and department number printed on a notice always outrank a general description of what a building "usually" handles.
For families dealing with an arrest, the important point is that this courthouse is not where anyone is held and not where a bond is posted. Hollywood arrests are made by LAPD Hollywood Division and move into the county jail system downtown. Getting someone out is a jail transaction, and it does not wait for the courthouse to open.

Court hours and jail release timing are two different clocks. Hollywood Courthouse runs on a weekday court calendar; the jail holding your family member runs 24 hours a day.

| Clerk's office | Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. |

Court hours and jail release timing are separate systems, and confusing them costs families whole nights. The courthouse keeps weekday business hours; the jails holding a Hollywood defendant accept bail bonds every hour of every day, weekends and holidays included.
When bail is already set at the county schedule amount — which is the case for most bookings — nothing about posting requires a judge or an open clerk's window. The bond is delivered to the facility holding the defendant.
Release timing then depends on the facility. A station-level release at LAPD Hollywood Division can be relatively quick; after transfer to the Inmate Reception Center on Bauchet Street, processing routinely takes several hours and runs longer overnight and on weekends.
Calendar call times are set department by department, generally 8:30 a.m. for morning calendars. The department number on the notice, not the building's opening time, is what governs when you need to be in the courtroom.

Parking on this stretch of Hollywood Boulevard is genuinely difficult. The Superior Court's own guidance for this location is blunt about how limited it is.
There are limited public parking spaces at the front of the courthouse. On a busy calendar morning you should not count on finding one.
Limited metered street parking surrounds the courthouse, with posted time limits and heavy enforcement. A hearing that runs longer than your meter is a common and expensive mistake.
The Metro B (Red) Line runs beneath Hollywood Boulevard with stations at Hollywood/Vine and Hollywood/Western, both within easy reach of 5925 Hollywood Blvd. For a morning calendar, transit is often faster than circling for a space.
All visitors pass through security screening. Weapons, recording devices, and cameras are prohibited without prior authorization. Add 20–30 minutes to your arrival time for the entry line.
We list only what the Superior Court publishes for this location. Where a case type is not confirmed for Hollywood specifically, we say so instead of guessing.
Hollywood is one of the Central District's courthouses, the same district that covers downtown Los Angeles. District assignment matters because it determines which pool of buildings a case can be calendared into.
The court lists a mental health clerk's office among the services at this location — a service point for matters in that category, distinct from the mental health courtroom calendars now consolidated at the Metropolitan Courthouse.
The Superior Court publishes a live courtroom directory for Hollywood showing the current departments, judicial officers, and courtroom phone numbers. That directory is the authoritative source for which department hears what today.
In-custody first appearances for LAPD bookings in this part of the city happen at Central Arraignment (429 Bauchet St), and downtown criminal litigation runs through the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center (210 W Temple St).
Interpreter services in 90+ languages, court reporter and transcript services, self-help assistance, and ADA accommodations are available, consistent with other Superior Court locations.
Central District calendar assignments have shifted repeatedly. Check the courthouse name and department number on your notice, or the court's courtroom directory for this location, before making the trip.
Bail review and reduction motions in California run under Penal Code §1270.1, and the starting figure comes from the Los Angeles Superior Court bail schedule.
Bail for a Hollywood arrest is normally set before anyone reaches a courtroom. LAPD books the defendant, the Los Angeles County bail schedule is applied administratively based on the charges, and that scheduled amount is postable immediately — day or night.
The first judicial look at bail comes at arraignment. A judicial officer reviews the scheduled figure and may leave it in place, raise it, reduce it, or release the defendant on their own recognizance. After that, either side can move to change bail under the hearing rules cited above, heard on the criminal case in the department assigned to it.
Because Hollywood cases frequently arraign downtown while other matters calendar here, families sometimes wait for "the court date" before acting. That wait has no upside. Posting at the schedule amount gets the defendant out first and lets the case be fought from home.
The bond is posted where the defendant is held: LAPD Hollywood Division for a fresh booking, the Inmate Reception Center downtown after transfer, or Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood for women. Give us a full legal name and date of birth and we locate the booking, confirm the amount, quote the premium, and post 24 hours a day.
A missed appearance at Hollywood Courthouse can mean a forfeited bond and a bench warrant the same day. There is a statutory window to bring the defendant back before forfeiture becomes a judgment against the cosigner — call us immediately. Failure to appear bail bonds →
