A staffed downtown office, licensed agents on every shift, and financing built for families who didn't plan on an arrest this week.
Arrests in Los Angeles happen around the clock, and so does our phone. A licensed agent answers at 2 a.m. on a holiday weekend the same way we answer at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday.
English and Spanish-speaking agents on every shift. The paperwork, the premium, and the cosigner's obligations get explained in the language your family actually speaks.
We post daily at Twin Towers, Men's Central Jail, Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, and Van Nuys Jail — so we know each facility's intake desk, release window, and paperwork quirks before we drive out.
Most bonds under $100,000 are written on a qualified signature alone — no property, no vehicle pink slip. Above that threshold, collateral may be requested depending on the case and the cosigner's qualification.
California fixes the premium at 10% of the bail. What we can flex is the down payment — flexible financing with down payments as low as 1% on approved credit, with the balance spread over a written payment plan.
California License #1846101, with a staffed Los Angeles office at 965 N Vignes St #5 — a block from the Inmate Reception Center, not a national call center routing your case to a stranger.
The same five steps we run on every California bond, applied to an LA booking.
The defendant is booked into an LAPD division, a Sheriff's station, or straight into the Inmate Reception Center. Bail is set from the Los Angeles Superior Court bail schedule, not by the arresting officer.
Call (213) 295-7796 with a full legal name and date of birth. We locate the booking, confirm the facility, and read back the exact bail amount and premium before you pay anything.
A short cosigner conversation — employment, residence, and how the balance will be paid. Most approvals take minutes, and most Los Angeles bonds require no collateral.
We post at the facility holding the defendant. Once the bond is filed, release depends on the jail's processing queue — hours at a station, longer at Twin Towers or IRC during a busy intake shift.
The remaining premium is paid on the written schedule agreed up front. No surprise fees, and we remind you of every court date so the bond stays in good standing.

The premium is fixed by California law. The down payment is where we can help.
California bail premium rates are filed with and approved by the Department of Insurance under Cal. Ins. Code §1800. Any Los Angeles bondsman quoting less than the filed 10% premium as the total cost is quoting something they can't legally deliver.
Once the bond is posted the premium is earned in full, whether the case is dismissed the next morning or runs two years. That's true statewide — it's the price of the surety, not a deposit against the bail.
Down payments start as low as 1% of the bail on approved credit. The rest of the 10% premium is financed on a written plan with fixed installments.
Most Los Angeles bonds under $100,000 are written on a qualified cosigner's signature. Larger bonds may require collateral depending on the charge and the cosigner's file.
| Bail Amount | 10% Premium | Down At 1% |
|---|---|---|
| $20,000 | $2,000 | $200 |
| $50,000 | $5,000 | $500 |
| $100,000 | $10,000 | $1,000 |
The 1% figure is a down payment on approved credit, not a discounted premium — the full 10% is still owed on the payment plan. For the full 1% through 10% tier comparison and who qualifies for each, see affordable bail bonds.

The five filings we bond most often in the city, with the statutes they're charged under and the bail ranges we typically see.
Typical bail: $5,000 – $100,000
A first misdemeanor DUI often books at the low end and can even release on citation. Priors, injury, or a high BAC push the amount up fast, and a felony DUI with injury can carry state prison exposure.
View PageTypical bail: $50,000 – $100,000
Corporal injury filings book high in Los Angeles and usually come with a protective order at arraignment. Release conditions matter as much as the bond — we walk cosigners through both.
View PageTypical bail: $10,000 – $100,000+
Simple possession books low and often qualifies for diversion. Possession for sale and transportation book far higher, and financial-crime style filings sometimes draw a 1275 source-of-funds hold.
View PageTypical bail: $30,000 – $150,000
A wobbler that can be filed as a misdemeanor or a felony strike depending on the weapon and the injury. Great-bodily-injury allegations raise both the bail and the sentencing exposure.
View PagePC §484/§487 and PC §459
Typical bail: $20,000 – $50,000
Petty theft books low; grand theft and first-degree residential burglary book substantially higher and carry felony jail or prison exposure. Burglary has its own dedicated page on this site.
View PageLos Angeles is the largest city in California and the seat of the largest jail system in the country. Arrests here can start with LAPD at a division station, with the Sheriff's Department at a station jail, or downtown at the Inmate Reception Center — and a person booked at midnight in the Valley can be housed at Twin Towers by morning. Knowing where someone actually is at the moment you call is half the job.
Our office sits at 965 N Vignes St #5, Los Angeles, CA 90012, a short walk from the Bauchet Street facilities, so we post downtown bonds in person rather than by fax from another county. From there we cover the whole city — Hollywood, the Valley, South LA, the Westside, and the harbor.
Criminal cases from Los Angeles arrests are heard across the county's courthouses. In the San Fernando Valley the "Van Nuys Courthouse" is actually two buildings, and which one matters depends on the case: criminal and traffic calendars are heard at the Van Nuys West Courthouse at 14400 Erwin St Mall, while civil, family law, and probate matters are heard at the Van Nuys East Courthouse at 6230 Sylmar Ave. For a Valley arrest with bail in play, it's Van Nuys West. The Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center downtown and the Compton Courthouse also hear a large share of LA cases.
