Bail FAQs
The Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse is the Law and Justice Center at 8303 Haven Avenue, just north of the I-10 at Civic Center Drive. The Superior Court lists Criminal at this location with a dedicated clerk line of (909) 350-9764, which makes it the bail-relevant courthouse for the western end of the county.
It is not criminal-only. Civil operations run here alongside the criminal calendar following the court's phased restoration of civil services at this district, and the Appeals and Appellate Division was relocated to 8303 Haven Avenue. What it does not carry is infractions — the court states plainly that this district does not hear traffic or non-traffic infraction matters.
The geography is the point for bail. Rancho Cucamonga is a Sheriff-contracted city, and the West Valley Detention Center — the county's largest jail at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue — is inside the same city limits. Court and custody are a short drive apart, which is unusual and genuinely helpful. It also means people from Ontario, Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, and Upland end up making the same two stops.
Warrant calendars deserve their own warning. The court schedules misdemeanor warrants for morning sessions Monday through Thursday and sentence modifications in the afternoons, with dates reserved in person or by phone. Walking into a courthouse on a live warrant without a bond arranged is how people leave in custody. Call us first.

Court hours and jail release timing are two different clocks. Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse runs on a weekday court calendar; the jail holding your family member runs 24 hours a day.
| Building hours | 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday |
|---|---|
| Criminal service hours | 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday |
| Misdemeanor warrant calendar | Morning sessions, Monday – Thursday |
| Drop box cutoff | 4:00 p.m. on court days |
| Midnight Bail Bonds | Open 24 hours, 7 days a week |
The court publishes building hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with criminal window service on the same schedule. TDD/TTY service is available at (909) 285-3520.
A drop box at the front entrance accepts completed documents, program completion proofs, and fine payments by check or money order — no cash. Deposits before 4:00 p.m. are received the same date.
Jail hours are not court hours. West Valley Detention Center accepts bonds at any hour, so a bond written at midnight starts the release process at midnight even though the courthouse across town is dark.

Bail review and reduction motions in California run under Penal Code §1270.1, and the starting figure comes from the San Bernardino County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule (effective January 1, 2026).
Bail is decided here and posted a few miles away. The judge sets or reviews the amount on this criminal calendar; the bond itself goes to the facility holding the defendant.
For nearly every case on this calendar that facility is the West Valley Detention Center at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue, in this same city. Before a county transfer, arrests by an independent city police department — Ontario, Chino, Montclair, Upland — may still be sitting in that city's own booking facility, and posting there is faster.
The amount starts from the San Bernardino County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule adopted under Penal Code §1269b(c). The court may raise or lower it under Penal Code §1275 after weighing public safety, the seriousness of the offense, the defendant's record, and the probability of appearance. In re Humphrey (2021) requires consideration of ability to pay and less restrictive alternatives before an amount is set that results in detention. There is no cite-and-release track in this county.
Give us a name and date of birth and we confirm booking facility, charges, and amount before anyone drives. Premium is the statutory 10% filed with the California Department of Insurance — the same at every licensed agency in California.
Every bond we write is issued by a California Department of Insurance licensed bail agent under Cal. Ins. Code §1800, at the statutory 10% premium.
A missed appearance at Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse can mean a forfeited bond and a bench warrant the same day. There is a statutory window to bring the defendant back before forfeiture becomes a judgment against the cosigner — call us immediately. Failure to appear bail bonds →
In-custody defendants on this calendar come from West Valley custody. The proximity between this courthouse and the county's largest jail is the defining fact of a Rancho Cucamonga bail case.
9500 Etiwanda Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739
The county's largest detention facility, in the same city as this courthouse. Most defendants on the Rancho Cucamonga criminal calendar are held here, and this is where the bond is posted.

Ontario runs its own police department and booking facility. Arrests there start locally before any West Valley transfer, and a bond posted early avoids the transfer entirely.
630 E Rialto Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92415
The county's downtown intake facility. Cases filed in the San Bernardino District rather than West Valley route custody here instead, about twenty-five minutes east.
