The Moreno Valley Courthouse sits at 13800 Heacock Street, Building D, Suite 201. The Superior Court of California, County of Riverside lists four categories of matters served here: small claims, unlawful detainers, civil, and traffic. Criminal is not among them.
That surprises people, because Moreno Valley is one of the largest cities in the county. The explanation is structural. Moreno Valley contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for policing rather than running an independent city police department. Its arrests are county arrests from the first minute, they are booked into county custody, and the resulting criminal cases are calendared with the rest of the western county's criminal work at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
This is a genuinely different relationship from a city like Corona or Banning, where a municipal department books its own arrestees into a city facility first and the county only enters the picture on transfer. In Moreno Valley there is no municipal intermediate step. The chain runs Sheriff's station, county jail, downtown courthouse.
The courthouse itself is a two-building complex — one building holds the courtrooms, the other holds the clerk's office and public service programs, with the main entrance on the second level reached by an exterior elevator in the courtyard. Two departments, MV1 and MV2, are listed in the court's directory.

Building hours and phone hours are different. The court publishes 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the facility and limits clerk's office phone hours to 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., excluding court holidays, on its general line at (951) 777-3147.
Documents left in the drop box after 4:00 p.m. are processed the next court day per California Rule of Court 2.210. Public viewing computers are available on site, and the location participates in the court's lactation room reservation system.
Jail hours are a separate system entirely. Because no in-custody calendar runs at Heacock Street, a Moreno Valley release depends on the Presley Detention Center's processing clock, not on when this courthouse opens.

How To Post Bail At Moreno Valley Courthouse
Bail review and reduction motions in California run under Penal Code §1270.1, and the starting figure comes from the Riverside County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule (effective October 20, 2025).
No bail is posted at this courthouse, because no one appears here from custody. If you are reading this after an arrest, the relevant geography is downtown Riverside, about 20 minutes west on the 60.
A Moreno Valley arrest is a Sheriff's arrest. Booking runs through the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station and then into the Robert Presley Detention Center on Orange Street, which is where the bond is actually posted. The criminal case is then calendared at the Hall of Justice a short walk from the jail.
The dollar figure comes from the county-wide Riverside Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule. Nothing about the city's contract-policing arrangement changes the number — what it changes is the speed with which custody moves into county hands, which in practice is faster than in cities with their own jails.
