We built this page because people still search for the Hemet Courthouse at 880 North State Street, and the honest answer is that it is gone. The Judicial Council of California opened the $95.6 million Menifee Justice Center to replace the 51-year-old Hemet building; the new courthouse opened for business on July 8, 2024 and was dedicated by the Chief Justice that August. The Superior Court's current list of locations does not include a Hemet courthouse.
The replacement was not a like-for-like move. The Menifee Justice Center at 27401 Menifee Center Drive is a three-story, nine-courtroom building, and the Superior Court lists four categories of matters served there: civil, evictions, family law, and small claims. Criminal is not on that list.
Mid-county criminal work sits at the Banning Justice Center, 311 East Ramsey Street, which the court lists as serving evictions, small claims, criminal, and traffic. For a bail bond company, that is the operative fact: if someone was arrested in Hemet or San Jacinto, the criminal case is not going to a State Street address.
One local wrinkle worth repeating from those two city pages: Hemet runs its own police department with a confirmed city jail, while the Riverside County Sheriff separately operates a station that carries the Hemet name and covers contract communities including San Jacinto. Two agencies, one city name. That distinction decides which building holds your loved one, and it survived the courthouse closure unchanged.

How To Post Bail At Hemet Courthouse
Bail review and reduction motions in California run under Penal Code §1270.1, and the starting figure comes from the Riverside County Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Schedule (effective October 20, 2025).
A closed courthouse changes nothing about how bail works, because bail was never posted at a courthouse. The bond goes to the facility holding the defendant.
